My students come from a diversity of cultural, social, and economic backgrounds, and I am proud of them all. Some of my students have shared their thoughts about results they have enjoyed and have graciously allowed me to post them here.

"Mark is a wonderful teacher. Not only does he have the knowledge and experience to teach, but he also has the patience and is also willing to adjust his lesson plan to fit in with a student's needs. Mark is always there to help and answer any questions that a student might have. My son has had many previous drum instructors, but none of them cared about the level or interest my son had; they only wanted to follow their own agenda and were very rigid and uncaring. Mark will break down the lesson and make sure that you understand. Mark will go out of his way to be involved with your interests. We are so happy we found him."--Jessica Sabatel

"I'm 49 years old and I have a family and work a full time job. Learning to play the drums is something that I have wanted to do for a long time but I had no prior music experience and I was wondering if I would be able to pick it up. With Mark, I was able to fit a weekly lesson in to my schedule and now I have been a student of his for over a year. Mark's easy going teaching style and patience creates an atmosphere that allows me to feel comfortable even when I am struggling to comprehend a new concept. Mark is an experienced musician and I have found that his combination of in class demonstrations, written material and audio files that can be emailed to use at home, have inspired me to believe that I can do this."--Neil

"Mark Matthews is a superb drummer and an even better teacher. It has honestly been a pleasure to learn from him. He starts with the basics but as you progress, you get to learn and play what you enjoy as a student. Mark is very understanding and patient. If you are struggling either timewise or with a piece you are playing, he will work with you to overcome it. At first I had trouble with my drum roll, but instead of him having me work on the same exercise over and over again until I got it right, he let me do a variety of different exercises that included a drum roll to help get the feel of it and to keep things interesting. He puts the needs of his students first. I don't think I could find a better teacher."--Jonathon Summers

"Just after my 40th birthday I decided to become a drummer.  It was cheaper than a Ferrari or hair plugs. Mark's personalized method adapted to my interests and introduced me to styles I did not know. Now, just before my 41st birthday I can play along with some of my favorite songs, improvise on blues, rock and latin rhythms. I get more enjoyment out of my drum set than I ever would of an overpriced Ferrari ... and I can always put on a hat."--Martin Brunelle
